I’ve set up an exception folder by going into “settings”/“general”/“exclusions”/“File paths”. I keep getting false positives for certain programs and I wanted them to be ignored by Avast.
And, surprise!, every single time I launch those programs, they can’t execute as they have parts being blocked by Avast. I go look in my virus chest and of course those programs are here, being flagged as “Win32Malware”.
How the hell am I supposed to tell that program to leave them alone? False positives have been the reason why I didn’t use any anti-virus for these last two years, but I’d really like to keep using Avast. I find that program to be quite discreet and useful, quite pleasing to the eye, plus I’d like to keep protecting my system.
But I will delete it if I cannot use my computer without being hassled by false positives when I launch my programs.
Yes please, as that not only resolves your problem, but when the detection is corrected, it should help other avast users with the same programs/files, etc.
Here’s the thing. I don’t want to have to do that every time one program gets detected… I will do it, but I still can’t figure out why a folder that has been excluded is NOT.

A little check looks in order to me, just to make sure. https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0
