Exclusions for AIS6 and Avast Free6 for MBAB?

I have XP and XP Pro on my computers. Some have AIS6 and some have just Avast Free 6. What exclusions do i need for my Avast and do i need to set any exclusions on my MBAM? I run free MBAM now but may get pro later on. I came up with these to set up on my AIS but dunno if i need them all or just some of them. Can i copy and paste the whole list into 1 exclusion or do they need to be entered separatly? Thanks for any help.

For Windows XP:

C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware\mbam.exe
C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe
C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe
C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware\zlib.dll
C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware\mbam.dll
C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware\mbamext.dll
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware\rules.ref
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbam.sys
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbamswissarmy.sys

I have XP and XP Pro on my computers
Home or Pro should not matter. ;)

With AIS6 you need to exclude MBAM as it can interfere when you have MBAM Pro.
That’s MBAM Full.

Ok Thanks for the info.

YoKenny does MBAM Free & Avast 6 Free have a conflict using W7 or XPPro?

Regards!

No and no.
I hope you have a licence for each system of MBAM that you run it on as MBAM is licenced per system.

You do not need it for Ubuntu though.

Thanks YoKenny for the clarification.

I meant MBAM Free. Yes I have a licence for 1 Pro/Full & am using Avast Free & MBAM Free on W7, is that fine?

Regards!

I would change your signature to

OS: XP MCE 2005 SP3, Vista Home Premium 32bit SP2, W7/Ult MBAM free, Ubuntu 10.04 LTS.
Protection: Avast 6 Free

Which system are you running MBAM Pro on ???

Running MBAM PRO & Avast Free on XP MCE 2005 SP3… MBAM Free & Avast 6 Free on W7.

MBAM Pro is resident, therefore anything resident you would want to do add an exclusion.

MBAM Free is on-demand (when you need it), therefore no exclusions are needed unless you experience a conflict for some reason, which is unlikely, then you can add it. The MBAM forum did recommend it in the past that exclusions be added, however it is up to the user if they want to add it or not.

You do not need Excusions for MBAM Pro with avast! Free only avast! AIS as the firewall is what needs the Exclusions.

Perhaps on your system (Win7), but for XP and Vista I need to make the exclusions for MBAM Pro.

That’s because you are using Online Armor Premium Firewall as the firewall is what needs the Exclusions.
You don’t have your Vista system in your signature.

OA isn’t the one giving me the problem, it’s Avast Behavior Shield. Today the swissarmyknife conflicted with Avast as a FP when I removed the exclusion for MBAM Pro in Vista, so I put it back it and no problems (all scans are clean before and after).

I have too many machines to list them here, so I list the one I use to go on the forum. I was previous told a while ago to trim my Signature down so it fits properly in the new forum look, so what you see is what you get. ;D

So make a the signature

Win XP-H SP3 / Vista / Firefox (NoScript + AdBlockPlus + BetterPrivacy) / Avast Free 5.1.889 / Online Armor Premium Firewall (beta) / Prevx with SafeOnline 3.0.5.220 / MBAM / Secunia PSI / Panda USB Vaccine / CCleaner plus a few other handy tools.

So you did add MBAM Pro exclusions in Vista. ???

Are you still using avast! 5.1.889 as 6.0.1000 is current. ???

  1. Yes
  2. Depends on what machine since I have several. Yes on one, yes on another, and 6.0.1021 on another. I like to test. ;D
