Exclusions for AIS6 and Malwarebytes Pro

For Windows XP:

C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware\mbam.exe
C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe
C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe
C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware\mbam.dll
C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware\mbamext.dll
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware\rules.ref
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbam.sys
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbamswissarmy.sys

This is what I entered on my Avast Internet Security for my Exclusions. Is there anything I have to add to Malwarebytes? Thanks!!

No need to do any of that since you are using MBAM Free on demand. Exclusions are for MBAM Pro.

Off topic…Any reason your not using FF 4.0?

Sorry I need to update my sig. I’m running MBAM PRO and AIS6 and using FF 4.0 Thanks! I will update it now.

You don’t really need MBAM Pro. You can get better protection for free using a secure dns such as ClearCloud.

It used to be with the older version of MBAM Pro that you needed to add the exclusions, but according to the MBAM forum they still recommend it. Here, it’s 50/50 as to how many people add the exclusions for the Pro version. It looks like you have everything covered. Just make sure you also add the exclusions to the Behavior Shield and change it to “Ask,” and also add the exclusions to the Field System Shield in addition to under “Settings.”

I’m using AIS 6 and MBAM pro, havent added any exclusions… IF you really want you can add these avast processes on MBAM ignore list, you will get them all in the Avast folder…

sched.exe
AvastUI.exe
AvastSvc.exe

Thank you for answering my question. Is this the only 3 that needs to be added. I know it may not be necessary but just want to make sure they dont interfere with each other.

Well I used it for a few weeks without any exclusions, then I started getting popups saying avastsvc blocked - malicious something… So I thought that these 2 have conflicts then I asked MBAM admins and they said that its because Avast WebShield/Network Shield goes through all the links you browse and if that particular link is known to be suspicious in MBAM definitions it will give out a message saying avastsvc blocked… So just to make sure I added the above exclusions, have been using for more than a month now and didnt have any problems… If you also get that popup just ignore it, it has nothing to do with Avast - it shows the name avastsvc because Avast is intercepting the sites…
