Hello… My PC got infected with Win32: Runonce [trj], Win32: Nimda [Drp], Win32: VB-EIK types of viruses. I got rid of all those viruses now but avast virus chest contains all the .exe files of my PC. None of my programs work now. Actually the virus came from my frnd’s pen drive. So now is there any way to restore the files without virus again…?? Plz help me out. I use avast4.8 home edition n i use windows xp professional SP 2.

after install click UPDATE and run cuick scan, click on REMOVE SELECTED to quarantine anything found

Short answer, no.
In relation to the statement “all the .exe files on my PC”, I don’t think you mean all the files on your pc, otherwise you wouldn’t be able to start it. I think you mean all the files from the programs you were trying to install.
Please correct me if I am incorrect in this assumption, and also confirm you are looking only in the “infected files” area of the chest.
Those aren’t viruses, they are trojans, and they are embedded into the file, or the whole file is malicious. No repair is possible. restoring the files to enable the program, which is almost certainly of dodgy origin (pirated/cracked) will infect the computer.
What programs are they? There might well be freeware good quality (and reputable) alternatives we could suggest.
