when i insert my seagate usb hard disk 1TB Avast Internet Security 17.2.2288 not scan it.
If i use option “scan USB/DVD” in the main control panel, the scan process takes only one- two seconds and finish with messagge that all is ok.
In the hard disk are 20 gb of files!!!
With USB key of 32 GB the scan is ok with real time necessary to finish the process and scan the real space take in the key: 5,5 gb in 1 minutes and 30 seconds.
If i use “directory scan” option with 1TB hard disk all is ok and the scan process start regularly but i would like to have secure scan when i insert new usb media on my pc.
Can you help me to know why it happens?
And is possible to have a message everytime i insert usb media that It is to choose the action to take?
I’m not at my desktop with 17.2.2288, so I don’t know for sure if your settings are the same. This win10 laptop still has 12.3.2280 and that has a Removable Media scan, and that has All Removable Media as the default option.
The difference on directory scan is you are actually giving a drive letter to be scanned, where the Removable Media scan has to determine what drives are media drives.
EDIT: I have reported this to try and draw attention to this issue.
