Failed hardrive - can I transfer AIS license to a new drive?

I have 3x AIS license for my various PC’s. My laptop has a failed drive and I wanted to know if I transfer the AIS license that is on it, to a new hardrive.

Any advice please…

Many thanks Pondus

hello,
what about uninstalling avast from the PC we no longer want to use our subscription on , if it HD is totally dead ?
Can the device be removed from the account only ?

As far as I’m aware, if the HDD/SSD is totally dead, deleting the device from the my.avast.com account should free up the license to be allocated to the new system/drive.

That is correct DavidR.

Thank you for this clarification which is not very clear in the FAQ

It can also mean that with a 3pc license we can protect “n” pcs as long as no more than 3 are connected (to the web) at the same time ? ;D

  1. You’re welcome.

  2. Yes, so long as the number of installed, protected PCs doesn’t exceed the number of licenses you purchased.
