Failing to Generate Reports

Hi all,

Anybody seen this error message before when trying to run a report:

COM error in repGenerate(): Crystal Reports ActiveX Designer-Failed to open a rowset. Details: ADO Error Code: 0x80004005 Source: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server Description: [DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (Connect()).]SQL Server does not exist or access denied. SQL State: 08001 Native Error: 17

What is your existing configuration used for ADNM?

Is it connected to your existing MS SQL Database?

Yup it is currently connected to our MS SQL 2005 server which is working fine. All the connections work and the testDB in the AMS maintenance connects successfully it just seems that the reporting element of the system connect connect…

It was looked that your access denied when ADNM tried to access your SQL Server. By the way i am not expert in Database but as for your reference information this link would be help you :

Thanks for the links but I can’t see them relating to my problem.

hi,

it turned out that the console didnt like connecting to the FQDM of the SQL server. Just put the DNS name in and it worked fine.

I have the exact same problem, Test from AMS all work fine its just the reporting side. did try DNS name instead of the IP, but still no luck.

error logs state the same
