Fake Microsoft Product Scam

It stormed where I live late yesterday evening and the electric was off for around a minute so my computer went off. When the electric came back on I turned my computer on and all I saw was a Microsoft product. It wanted my debit card number’s. I tried to add some numbers instead of using mine but that didn’t work so I had to use my debit numbers. After that I was able to sign on to my computer. I was able to talk to someone at my bank and told her what happened. She cancelled my debit card.

Now I’m afraid to turn my computer off and restart it.

Has this happened to anyone else on the forum?

It looked almost like what you posted.

I’m using windows 11.

Now I’m afraid to get windows updates.

I have them paused until June 25Th. :-\

Do a manual update.

How do I do that?

  • Using the Settings App:

  • Press Win + I to open the Settings app.

  • Choose Windows Update from the left panel.

  • Click Resume updates.

  • Hope that helps.
