False alert of infected website?

Avast blocks a threat to this website http://www.his.com/pshapiro/briefbio.html

But I’ve contacted the admin and he contacted the website host, and they’ve found nothing suspicious. Also I entered the url at the website checker of http://www.urlvoid.com

No problems reported.

What’s going on?

You could report this as a FP to virus AT avast dot com and link to this thread,

polonus

How can you find what the detected threat is supposed to be?

hi forumerker,

avast! should have had a toaster pop-up stating what the detected threat was.

There are three ways to get this information:

[ol]- Right-click the avast! icon ball in the lower right and select “Show last pop-up message” and do a screenshot of the toaster.

  • Open the avast! program window. Summary tab>Current status, and look for the active resident shield that actually blocked the malware. Click the shield to see what action the shield took in dealing with the detection.
  • Click Account upper right in the main avast! program window and log on to the web page under your account. Click details to see what actually happened at the bottom of the details section.[/ol]

You can attach screenshots of any detection you find if you wish.

Whatever it was seems to be gone now, thank you for the link to urlquery.net though, useful stuff!
