False Positigve -- Avast blocking Itunes Install file from Apple

I have Itunes 10.0.0.163. I checked in Itunes, from the “Help” tab, and was advised that a newer version, 11.0.1, is available. I clicked on “Download Itunes” and was taken to www.apple.com, entered my email, clicked on “Download Now,” and Avast popped up a red window stating that it had blocked a suspicious file. I clicked on “More Details” and the web page includes this description:

URL: http://appldnld.apple.com/iTunes11/041-8
Process: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox…
Infection: Win32:Evo-gen [Susp]

I share your suspicions about Apple, but I would really like to update Itunes.

I assume this is a false positive?

Thanks.

its doing the exact same thing for me but its for the SuperAntiSpyware Download

ran tons of scans incuding:
Avast Scan (no infection)
Boot Time Scan (no infection)
SuperAntiSpyware (no infection thank god i still had it in my download file)
Malawarebytes (no infection)

SO it HAS to be a false positive its good to know im not the only person having this issue

Yeah, you are not the only one. I also have this issue. All downloadings of Microsoft got blocked… with the same Win32:Evo-gen [Susp]. Need to be fixed now.

P.D.: Using avast! Internet Security (almost my final days of the 1 year subscription).
