Faster detection of unknown vira

There were some talk about Avast would optimize or create a new system, so the vira/malware submitted by users, would be faster included in the AVS’, but when is this going to happen if ever?

I’ve submitted two undetected vira 3 weeks ago and nothing happened, so I send them again on 17/12 and still nothing.

Emails send to virus@avast.com:

Another variant Nurech, former variant is detected by Avast, this one is not.

Detected by Kaspersky Anti-Virus as Trojan-Downloader.Win32.Nurech.p
Detected by AVG Antivirus as Downloader.Generic3.DX
Detected by F-Prot Antiviru as W32/Downloader.AUEB

Not detected by Avast using latest VPS (0659-1)

Attached in Zip file, password is virus

Attached file: Regning2.zip

Not detected by Avast, but detected by alot of other AV’s

Detected by Kaspersky Anti-Virus as Trojan.Win32.VB.avi
Detected by AVG Antivirus as Generic2.LNU
Detected by F-Prot Antiviru as W32/Orctudo.A

Not detected by Avast using latest VPS (0659-1)

Attached in Zip file, password is virus

Attached file: ventrilo-2.3.2-Windows-i386.zip

Thanks

Yes I am currious also ;D
Since avast is becoming more popular my guest would be that they are getting more suspicious file sent by emails so there should be more virus analyst checking virus (at) avast (dot) com.

Any response to this?

Neither of the vira submitted is at this moment detected by Avast

thats not gd…have u tried sending them by adding them in the virus chest and selecting “email to ALWIL software”?

Nope, but now the nurech variant is detected, the other one is still not.

But I was more hoping for an answer about the “improvements” Avast was working on.

I don’t want to disappoint you… but, don’t be in a hurry about knowing that.
Improvements take time and Alwil seems to work more than to talk. It’s common that you have to wait more than you wish too 8)
