I sent my updated skins (v2) to Vlk last night, and those skins are already in avast! skins download section. You’ll also find a note (version 2) next to skin pictures (only those that are updated).
Skins that are updated:
RejZor-Sharp
Black-Liquid
Bionic-avast! (major change, enable translucent effect in your avast! to see it)
Laah-Ra
I changed the look of some windows inside the skins, and corrected some colors. Largest change is BIONIC skin. Dispaly area now looks like some radioactive-Bionic pool, and all that plasma/magma inside… (you have to have TRANSLUCENT Effect enabled inside your avast!) also those 3 sliding panels are with plasma effect too. Interesting thing is, you don’t have to have TRANSLUCENT EFFECT enabled in avast! to see those plasma effects in sliding windows, just in display area (of course, Windows 2000 and later)…
EDIT: I should add a note… Server is overloaded at this point (Nov.13th 2004 - 10:20 AM Eastern time CAN & US), thousands of people are trying to download avast! version 4.5, so please be patient. Maybe it would be much better if you try later when everything calms down a little bit…
Lee16, you won’t see any huge/noticeable change in Black-Liquid… just few colors in some windows, and some other internal things. Biggest change is regarding BIONIC avast! skin…
Read what Pavel said about this issue… server is overloaded at this point… thousand of people are trying to download 4.5. It’s completely understandable.
Hey guys, have you tried BIONIC skin with TRANSLUCENT EFFECT in avast! enabled ? If not, try it… it looks nice… Bionic avast, biohazard area… and display area looks like pool with radioactive liquid in it. Also, those little sliding windows are filled with plasma effect too… It really looks good integrated into Bionic skin, IMHO…
The one that you were pointing to, is this… (just if you wanna see translucent selection rectangle when you’re marking files and folders inside windows)…
Sasha - downloaded ver. 2 of my favorite, the RejZor one, a couple of days ago, and thanks for the heads-up. Nothing “new” jumped out at me, but maybe the changes in that one were too subtle for my limited perception.
And to you and/or the team – other than on the download page itself, I can’t find anything showing that it’s ver. 2 rather than the “original”. Maybe a minor change of file-name would help tell them apart?
