File sharing

Is their anything besides lime wire where you can get files, please name a couple, because limewire causes virsuses

i use bearshare lite 5(remember lite)but beware all file sharing programs can have viruses, use at your own risk, bri

i have tried bare ware once but does it really work

All P2P will share viruses if you are unprotected…
eMule is (most of the times) a clean P2P network (unless you’re downloading piracy).
Anyway, always let avast P2P provider as a resident protection on 8)

mlb32001,bearshare does contain spyware, but thats why i said lite it doesnt,i find everything im lookin for on it,bri

I use Shareaza.

www.shareaza.com

Shareaza never gets good download rates for me, although LimeWire does. Any suggestions? - – this includes almost every file I’ve downloaded from both, and I have configured Shareaza several times based on their website information.

Just a little extra info to help you decide…

Emule uses the Edonkey 2000 network (slow as hell BTW, but it’s also the biggest P2P network)
Limewire uses Gnutella 1 network
Bearshare uses Gnutella 1 network(BTW this program has some adware bundled with it)

Shareaza supports all of the above networks + has it’s own network(Gnutella 2) and also has Bittorrent support.

I personally download via bittorrent because of the good speeds

Have fun…

Yep, don’t_like_malware,

And the not so lucky land here on this forum later in the virus and worms section with their hjt-logs full of malware, so we can load our kazaa_like bfu.scripts to uninstall the various foist-crap from their boxes. Don’t you know by now that vested interests from the 6 global-media giants that rule will gladly help you to give these services a bad name or scare you away.
Why can not it be done in a legal way, where you can download streams, just like you could with the old tape-recorders (you paid the inclusive on the tape, and the artist had a free platform - better than the pay per click formula (too expensive for most), just the impression that it was free was making it better for the end-user, artist and the industry, but there were more in media corps then than the global ruling 6 of to-day).
