File system shield?

How can i view what “files” were scanned in the file system shield area? Can someone explain to me what files are scanned in this area? If i click “show traffic log”, it only shows a simple graph but does not show an actual log with details about whats being scanned… I would like to see what is actually going on in this protection area.

The file system shield, is the on-access scanner, files that are accessed, e.g. run, modified, etc. will be scanned.

The graph just deals in activity, the last file scanned just shows the previous scan, there is no recording of all files scanned. That is the whole point of a resident scanner to scan files before they are opened/run, if malware is found you get an alert otherwise not, so I see little point in recording all files that are scanned.

The on-demand scans (by default don’t record all files that are scanned either, only detections) otherwise logs would be massive.

However if you want to go into paranoid mode and change the report file settings to record all OK items, in the file system shield, expert settings, report file, see image. But watch the log file settings go massive. The report file is located here, C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\AVAST Software\Avast\report\FileSystemShield.txt (XP) or C:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Avast\report\FileSystemShield.txt (Vista, win7)
