Hi I’m using this program to send files from my phone to my Windows 7 PC.
The avast web shield is going berserk while doing so, using up to 25% CPU (on an old Dell Dimension single core PC).

First of all the file is an mp4 movie and I would really avast didn’t scan it at all. Secondly, I have the SendAnywhere.exe
executable in the web shield exclusions, but it is not helping.

Only way to get any relief is to temporarily disable to web shield before starting the transfer.

I have tried this in the latest release and also an older version 2245, but the problem is the same

Can anybody suggest a setting that may help?

Well, 25% CPU usage on an old system isn’t that bad.

Of course it’s bad and it’s wasted. I would like it not to scan these big files at all.
On a slow PC it has a terrible affect almost doubling the transfer time.

A start would be checking the webshield log.
You might want to set verbose logging first.

As I don’t know the program you mentioned, I can’t help you.

Side note, hope your sig is just outdated or are you really using an old Avast version…!?

Yes the Sig is out of date, I’ve been switching back and forth between the versions mentioned above.

How does one enable verbose mode?
