Hello
i don’t know a whole lot about computers so forgive me if this is a stupid question
I have Cricut Design Space installed and today i got the warning that that there was Filerepmalware in Cricutsystemfont.exe
and now Avast won’t allow me to access any of my system fonts in my Cricut Design Space
How do i fix this? I don’t think there is a virus in any of the fonts i downloaded or Avast wouldn’t have let me download them?
Now i can’t access any at all and when i try to restore the file, Avast just keeps giving me the warning again and sending the file to the virus chest
Please help! I need to access my fonts
Thank you!
Now it’s also saying sending cricutcanvas.exe to the virus chest?!
You can report a suspected FP (File/Website) here: https://www.avast.com/false-positive-file-form.php
This just happened to me today as well, and i just figured it out. If you go into your virus chest, they are all listed there. Click on all the cricut ones. Go to the bottom and next to the delete button, there are three dots. Click the three dots, and then choose restore and create exception. You may have to restart your Cricut design, but mine is working now. Make sure when you go to your settings in AVAST, Cricut design is an “Exception”. Let me know if you can’t figure it out! Good luck!
The FileRep part is just a file that has little or low reputation and is probably an unsigned executable
One other thing that I would suggest you do first.
Before Restoring and Adding an Exception - Use the Send for Analysis option in the virus chest, this sends it to avast for analysis.
If it is truly a false positive, avast could/may make a modification to the virus signature
Does anyone know approximately how long it takes to have a False Positive analyzed?
You should get a reply within 48 hours.
Same problem here since yesterday…
I can’t work since 2 days, it’s a bit annoying… :-\
