Files not scanned, don't know why (343?)

Hi There,

I am an Avast Free user on Windows 8.

After I did a system scan Avast told me that around 50 files could not be scanned.

The reason given for each one was the same. It said 'Error: The external backing provider is not recognized (343) ’

Most of the files are of the types .Ink or .Ini with a handful of others.

Does anyone know what the cause of this could be? What is the ‘external backing provider’? Could the files be doctored versions?

Hi. That article basically says locked files are ok because they’re locked.

Are you saying that the error I got for these files indicates that they are locked?
