Find a virus on my QQ

Virus Name: Win32: Wow-AE[Trj]

Could you please tell me what this type of Trj?

Have you tried your friend google http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=Win32%3AWow-AE ?

What was the infected file name, where was it found example (C:\windows\system32\infected-file-name.xxx) ?
This may help finding more detailed information in a google search using the file name rather than the virus name.

I have the same problem.and now i have to stop the avast on-access protection to use QQ(which is the most popular IM client in China just like Icq,msn messenger and so on). It’s really unconvinient for me. btw,and i use the modified version of the official QQ, does it why the problem is?
I try to solve it by means of menu—setting— exclusions, but even did I add the infected file ,it doesn’t work, the alert messenge pop up again when I try to use the QQ, it’s really disappointed.
Can somebody help!!!

You could also check the offending/suspect file at: VirusTotal - Multi engine on-line virus scanner
Or Jotti - Multi engine on-line virus scanner if any other scanners here detect them it is less likely to be a false positive. You can’t do this with the file in the chest, you will need to move it out.

If it is indeed a false positive, add it to the exclusions lists (Standard Shield, Customize, Advanced and Program Settings, Exclusions) and check scan it periodically using the ashQuick scan (right click scan, it will need to be temporarily removed from the standard shield exclusions otherwise it won’t be scanned), when it is no longer detected then you can also remove it from the program settings, exclusions.
Also see (Mini Sticky) False Positives, how to report and what to do to exclude them until the problem is corrected.
