I thought at one time the avastscripts feature would not work with Firefox. Does the scripts shield effectively eliminate the need to run no script’s within Firefox?
thank you

I don’t think script shield is working with FF yet in avast 6 (it certainly isn’t on my system)
IE 32bit only at the moment, as Vlk said here. Also, it’s not really intended as NoScript (IMNSHO completely broken by design and doing more harm than good) replacement at all.
It isn’t working in Firefox here either. It has been stated that as of right now the only browser is IE 32bit.
It wouldn’t replace NoScript anyway, as it would only stop malicious scripts but not the ones that may do other things. I only allow JavaScript on sites that I want to, which is damned few.
+1

same here no activity of script shield with firefox
Nothing scanned here either. No last scanned anything.
Well, I have some activity here, but this relates to scripts being scanned on the machine.

Strange, it’s working for me on W7 64bit.
no it doesn’t, that is, in the case it scanned anything in FF which I haven’t seen yet. It’s not meant to replace NoScript anyway, as it doesn’t operate in the same way at all. And to whom it may concern, glad to hear that NS is broken by design :
I am not clear on what you are saying. Is NoScript of no value?
it’s the best browser security extension ever.
Thanks
This thing does not belong into hands of ordinary users. Non-geeks will end up with heavily broken web browsing sooner or later.
doktornotor,
I agree NoScript does take some time to learn how to use it.
Off Topic: I notice that you use LnS Firewall. How do you like it? Is it better than Private Firewall?
Thanks
Depends on what you expect from your firewall. I do not want HIPS/behaviour blocker, I want a lightweight firewall (packet filter, application-level control). LnS exactly fits this purpose. Kerio Personal Firewall nostalgia…
Thanks for the information. I am looking for a light firewall so maybe this could work for me.
