Firefox crashes when Avast 10.0.2022 is enabled

If I have AVAST 2015 Beta1 (10.0.2022) enabled FF will crash when opening.
I do not have any of the Avast tools installed.
The only thing that is installed is File, Web and Mail shields.

The crash also happens when I try to open FF in safe mode.

I am using Firefox 32.0. It also happens on earlier versions.

I have removed each extension one at a time to see if it crashes when I reopen FF after I closed it.

The crash keeps happening.

The only way to open FF is by disabling Avast and then enable Avast when FF is up and running.

It does produce a crash report for Mozilla Firefox and sends it to them but I do not know if the read them or how to read it.

I do not know if a report is generated in Avast for the FF crashes.

Any help or suggestions would be welcomed.

Same with me, if this is not fixed real soon, I have no use for this product.

I can’t even start Fx in safe mode. C-Ya I am back to the somewhat stable release.

What is strange, PaleMoon works just fine.

I think it has something to do with https scanning by Web Shield.
Only major browsers are supported at the moment and that is why this beta is working fine with Pale Moon.
Maybe I am wrong.BTW,I am not Avast beta tester.

I removed FF 32 and Avast 10.0.2022 and reinstalled FF 31 and Avast 2014.9.0.2021 for now.

I will try the next beta version later.

Thanks for the possible bug.

Do you, by a chance, have any dumps from the crashed Firefox?

I am afraid not.
Sorry

Ok, thanks. We’ll re-test with ff32. Thanks for reporting it. Lukas

Thanks.

I would think FF32 (final version) will release soon since they are already at B9.

lukor,

Check out abruptum post in this post and also check out bob3160 post at https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=153511.195 Reply #209
He gives a possible solution to the problem.

Both seem to think the same thing.

I got it to work using Fx 31. I thiank I will try 32 now.

Fx 32 crashed on take off

Firefox is a major Browser, Pale Moon is not. I tried using Fx32 Beta 9 using a fresh /clean install with no extensions or themes. It crashed on start up. Fx32 will go to the final release stage on 9.2.2014. So some work has to be done by Avast soon or there will be many upset users. Maybe the reason PaleMoon worked is that it is a 64 bit version. I switched back to Fx31 final and it is working just fine with this Beta. Like I posted earlier Fx32 is using a new API.

Firefox 32 Final will be released next week, I am now using Fx32 Beta 8 and it works fine. I also sent a note to Mozilla about this.
