Firefox Easter egg

Hello everyone,

First off for those who don’t know what an easteregg is in software (definition from Wikipedia): An Easter egg is a hidden message or feature in an object such as a movie, book, CD, DVD, computer program, or video game.

Ok now for those of you who remember IE 5 there was apparently an easter egg in it that insulted Mozilla so to find out what Mozilla’s reply was open Firefox and type this in about:mozilla.

For those of you who don’t have firefox here is what the message says:

And so at last the beast fell and the unbelievers rejoiced.
But all was not lost, for from the ash rose a great bird.
The bird gazed down upon the unbelievers and cast fire
and thunder upon them. For the beast had been
reborn with its strength renewed, and the
followers of Mammon cowered in horror.

from The Book of Mozilla, 7:15

I would like to hear what everyone thinks this message may mean

Justin

Hi justin1278,

There is a variety of messages from the book of Mozilla, depending on what kind of version you launch.

There is symbolism in all things, e.g. the pale horseman is lead equals Pluto equals Thor. The red horseman is the planet Mars, equals war. If you do not know that the four horsemen of the Apocalypse stand for four planets with their symbolism and influence, you could not that easily grasp the whole picture, see down:

Mammon is a reference to greed and people who worship money. A false demon of sorts.

In Gnome, hit alt F2. Then in the dialog box, type “free the fish”…

Ya I knew about that one lol, I like the fish ;D

Interesting post. Thanks, enjoyed the read.
