Firefox & Thunderbird don't start with Avast Internet Security

Hi,
since my purchase of Avast Internet Security and its activation yesterday, impossible to start Firefox and Thunderbird (Windows xp sp3)!
I managed to bypass the problem by disabling all the features of the software and restarting my computer, but this “solution” is far from being a realistic option …
Now, what to do ? I see no other solution than to uninstall Avast to go back to the free version.
Anyone with a better idea?
Thanks in advance,
Dominique

Hi
From what I understand you saying, there is no problem opening those programs with Avast Free but issue is when you install AIS.
The obvious difference in the 2 versions is the Firewall in AIS. I would check the FW settings.
