avast.setup need access into your firewall settings.

But i thought avast! does not have a firewall, that it was like NOD32 ?

That’s still correct, but Avast has to go through your current firewall sometimes,
e.g. to update itself.

avast 4.8 doesn’t have a firewall, what was being asked by the original poster was I believe (and answered by Tech), what part of avast does the users firewall need to allow so avast can update.

In the help file are missing any information about updates avast! under firewall cover

All I want to know which protocol and port to open locally in the firewall for proper updates via internet.
Who knows, tells! (Or provide a link where you can read)
