I could not find an explanation for “Filter” check-box in the Help Center documentation.
Filters the list below - shows only the items containing the text that you typed into the box.

If you are like most people, you do not like email SPAM.
In fact, most of us hate email SPAM.
Do yourself a favor and change the nickname so that it does not include your email address.
Otherwise, you will soon see your email Inbox grow and grow and then grow some more.
Be proactive and prevent that extra growth that comes from too much SPAM & a lack of security consciousness.
