If I only have the free Avast installed on my computer, do I need to turn off My Firewall? or leave it on. Since Avast has i’ts own Firewall i’m wondering if it wouldn’t cause conflict?

Only the Avast Internet Security version has a firewall, the free version doesn’t have a firewall, so you need to have your firewall enabled.
avast! free does NOT have a firewall. It’s an antimalware only.
