First Defense Rescue: Thoughts

Hello… I came across this: http://www.firstdefenserescue.com/

What are your thoughts?

I’ve only seen this mentioned a few times on the forum:
http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=24753.0
http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=27480.msg223891#msg223891 (near the end of that post)

There is also a Wilders Security forum… From what’s there, it has gone through some changes, which I’m still not clear about as yet. I may try it out at some point… I heard it’s supposed to be similar to Symantec’s GoBack…

Why didn’t you post in : http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=24753.msg202818#msg202818 instead of starting a new thread?

Okay next time I will do that, if you think that’s best. There’s always some red type above the reply box for threads that haven’t been posted in in a while. ~shrugs~ The product is supposed to have changed from since those posts anyway.

Also, I think that forum culture can be difficult to decipher. Some people get annoyed when you ‘bump’ old threads & post in them & basically bite your head off because you didn’t want to create a new thread & then you get the opposite of that.

If I don’t provide links or show that I’ve at least tried to look around for myself, then somebody will be peeved that I didn’t STFW or STFF aka that Google is your friend stuff.

I’m simply not going to be able to please everyone & I think I did a better job of describing it straightforwardly + filling the gap.

No offense Bob, but I think Kei is correct in posting here since those threads you referred to were from 2006 and 2007 and how many people are going to help here by looking at archives from years ago. She is looking for recent information and got to the point in her new post. Nicely written Kei

And you are correct in that you can’t please everyone all the time. Welcome to the forum Kei.

looking at archives from years ago.
It doesn't require looking in archives.:) A simple search brings up the subject.

nobody’s supposed to post in a 2006 thread. Some forums even show you a message when a thread is too old, advising to start a new one.

Hi SafeSurf! Thank you for your warm welcome!

Logos, what do you think about maybe closing those old threads? I mean, there’s red type above any thread on the forum that hasn’t been posted to in 20 days… Wouldn’t it be better to just close them & be done?

& I had made a new thread because I thought that maybe someone on here had tried the program since then (the 3 or 4 years since the dates of those threads) & might have an opinion.

Take care all,
~Kei

don’t worry about that, that’s really a very minor issue…
