I installed Avast antivirus and the install failed, the reinstall failed and it says already installed, cannot uninstall.
I have rebooted and tried to install again and again.
I used CleanMyMacX and it didn’t show it installed, but ran a full clean anyway.
I have used Crap Cleaner and uninstaller.
I have used REVO uninstaller Free.
I have tried the following command in Terminal, but it doesn’t work as the folder doesn’t exist.
sudo /Applications/Avast.app/Contents/Backend/hub/uninstall.sh

Sorry, try again.

Yet when I try in install it says it is already installed again.
Just tried this version.
http://mac-av.u.avcdn.net/mac-av/10_10/AAFM/avast_security_online.dmg
Same issues.
Happy to try anything suggested.

interestingly I read some more posts and found that part of the directories exist.

I then installed Commander One and tried to move the folder but it will not let me.
Ideas?
FIXED/SOLUTION
Finally managed to move the remaining folder to the trash, then rebooted.
I then installed http://mac-av.u.avcdn.net/mac-av/10_10/AAFM/avast_security_online.dmg and it finally worked.
Still need a standalone installer as this has frustrated me for a week.
The installer should have an option to remove all previous installations.
