One problem I’ve been experiencing since updating from 4 to 5 is that on flash-heavy sites the computer will often freeze in Firefox 3.5.8. I’ve shut off the behavior shield module, which seems to have helped somewhat, but the problem still occurs too often.
Any way to fix this?
Note: I’m using Win2000 on a Thinkpad R50p w/ a 1.7GHz Pentium M and 2mb memory. It was a considered a desktop replacement when it first came out, but I was thinking that maybe the problem is that the computer just isn’t fast enough.
Maybe this is not solely a flash issue. I just booted up the computer, which had been shut down for about a half hour to check on this thread. Right after I clicked the Avast forum main page - the one and only web page I accessed in the session - the computer froze up and I had to manually shut it down.
The Adblock Plus extension may be the cause of the problem. Since reinstalling a much old version, I haven’t had any problems, but it’s only been in use for a few hours. Should know one way or the other in a couple of days.
