Flash

I am unable to download Adobe Flash player. No matter what I do, the Adobe site downloads 96% of the setup and freezes. I think that Avast may be blocking the download but don’t know how to tell Avast to allow it. Scans by Avast state that computer is running well.

try remove the browser plugin if you have it

avast! 2014: Changing, adding, or removing individual program components and features in setup configuration of avast! Antivirus. http://www.avast.com/en-eu/faq.php?article=AVKB96#artTitle

I think we first need to know where this problems stems from. What OS, which version of avast!, what other security programs are installed?
Which program advised you of an update to flash? What are the current versions of Flash that are installed on your system?

Windows 7 OS. Avast Version 9.0.2021. Other security is Spybot S & D Version 2.1.21. Any e-mail that I receive that has a video attachment states that I need to add Adobe Flash player to view and often include Adobe link for download but it will simply not download. No Adobe Flash versions are currently on computer because of inability to download. Thanks for your help!

Remove Spybot since it has a huge lack of detection and other problems nowadays.

emails normally don’t have a video attachment.

From what exact site are you trying to download flash player/plugin ?

If I received an email with a video attachment, and a link to download the player,
that email would wind up in the trash. Safety first.
Curiosity not only kills cats. It also does a number on computers.

My friends send video links to sports stories, news stories, etc. and, of course, I want to view them. I simply cannot.

New try:
