flashing a new custom rom

I will be flashing a new custom rom on my android 2.3.4 phone. Before doing that I will:

  1. backup my installed apps and system data to the sdcard (using Titanium B/U).
  2. Backup everything to the sdcard (using ClockWorkMod (CWM) recovery)
  3. wipe cache/wipe dalvik cache and wipe data/factory reset.
  4. Flash the new rom
  5. Restore apps and data from the Titanium backup.

My question: when I have done this in the past I found that - (even after I restored Avast Mobile security and data from the Titanium Backup) - all the Avast settings were reset to default and I had to re-enter them all again. So, I wonder if there was another way to backup and restore Avast MS’s settings? Including the hidden part. Is that possible?

I use Ultimate Backup Pro and my experience when flashing a new ROM is recover/restore I exclude the disguised app of avast.
After restoring AMS, I reinstall the antitheft part.

Thanks.

I do not know Ultimate Backup Pro. If you have also used Titanium Pro, could you compare?

I’ve used the free Titanium version. I can’t remember. But I’ve reinstalled the ROM this weekend and I’ve got back all the app (their settings) and the system settings too.

Always do a nandroid :stuck_out_tongue: try manually backing up the app rather than a batch backup… worked for me
