When I clicked on ‘Restore’ and open up the thumbdrive, the pop up displayed ‘Windows cannot find (name of folder)’…
For extract same thing applies. . .
Do you see folders or what? Have you tried to remove extension?

At Virus Chest, the name of my folder is ‘foldername.scr’…
If the folder cannot be open, the files needless to say too 
I still can’t retrieve the files back after unchecking the option ‘Hide extensions for known file types’ for the extension. . .
I think I do not know how to help you to restore your files from Avast quarantine. Please post your topic here and someone who knows Avast better will help you.
