Forced to install Google Chrome

I just updated the Avast program (Windows 7, free version). After installing the update it restarted the computer and I got the window where it says “Almost done, click continue…” or something similar. Over on the left are there are the check boxes for installing Chrome and making it the default browser. I clicked them; nothing happened; they remained checked. I tried the X to close the window; it did not close. I went into task manager and attempted to stop the application; it did not respond and did not stop.
Surprise, surprise, when I finally clicked the Continue button the window closed, Chrome downloaded and installed and made itself the default browser. I immediately uninstalled it and reverted to my browser of choice.

Unacceptable.

It's called patience. :) Since you didn't wait long enough, you in essence allowed the Chrome install to happen. Simply remove Chrome, open your favorite browser and change the settings to again make that your default browser. The same goes for changing the default search engine. Chrome happens to be an excellent browser but, we all have our pets. :)

Mine is Firefox :slight_smile:
But I have Chrome installed because some services I use give priority and better functions with Chrome.
