Hi forum members,
Forget about windows update, and use microsoft update instead.
Because then you get all your ms software patched. Why, read the advice here: http://www.f-secure.com/weblog/archives/archive-042006.html#00000854

Hi Polonus,
Good idea. I have made a Microsoft Update Icon that now is located near the Windows Update Icon on my pc. Makes it very easy to find and also to use instead of the Wins Update icon. Thanks for the post.
Well, this is strange for me. Both the Windows Update shortcut on my desktop and the Windows Update on my start menu go to …
http://update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/v6/default.aspx?ln=en-us
… which, as you can see, is the same site f-secure is recommending. I have never changed it. That is the way it has been since I installed XP on this new computer last Autumn.
Actually, Windows update goes to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ and is then redirected.
Microsoft Update goes to http://update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/v6/default.aspx?ln=en-us
Yes, Bob … you are correct. I just posted the final destination.
