I forgot the ‘PROGRAM SETTINGS’ password of AVAST!
HOME EDITION ver 4.7.
Is there any method to reset/recover the lost
password, except re-installing AVAST!?

I’m afraid it will need to be reinstalled and it may be best to do a complete clean install.
Download the latest version of avast http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html and save it to your HDD, somewhere you can find it again. Use that when you reinstall.
Download the avast! Uninstall Utility, find it here and save it to your HDD.
Now uninstall, reboot, run the uninstall utility, reboot install the latest version, reboot.
???ok,thanks to all,newbee here and for some reason the program is looking for a password,i just put the key in excepted that no problem,i just see or dont want to do a reinstall,question:do i need to have this password or can i just let the program do what i’s supposed to do? :-*once again,honey i’m home,.
You do not have to use a password. But, if you set a password, then you will need it.
