When I registered on this forum I had to activate my account with a link sent to my email. This activation email contained my chosen password in plain text. This is abysmal security and I expect much more from a company that deals in the area of computer security.

The password sent to you is something you can easily change in the user settings.
I would consider worrying about your email account password then
