I have had Avast free anti virus for around 6 or 7 years now and i have been very pleased with it but on Tuesday this week the experience was spoiled.
A notification informed me that i would have to renew my Anti virus. Having been initially sceptical i found out it was genuinely from Avast. I tried to download 6 times and it wouldn’t download so decided to uninstall the version on my laptop and reinstall.
This all went perfectly with one exception; it would not give me my free 5gb of VPN. I have now tried uninstall and re install 5 times with no change. I have been all over the website trying to find out why this is happening with no success, it only deals with problems with VPN for the paid service. Anyone have any idea, i have tried to contact Avast but both their email addresses don’t work.
I have no idea about the free version as i use premium and nord vpn but could it of been a trial version of their vpn which has now run out and as you re installed the vpn is now only available on the paid version.
soz, didnt know that. just a guess but could it of been a offer years ago which has now been dropped so as you reinstalled youve now lost that option.
im guessing as mentioned try support on the link posted above.
ive now got similar ikkle problem where ive just added avast to new win 11 pc and now ive got to work out if i can add the old password manager thats also been dropped by avast.
