From the outset,i have been using Avast for a number of years and am happy with the product.
Lately i have been offered a 60 day Free Trial for the premium A.V,when i go through the
process of acceptance i am required to give credit card details, yet it is suppose to be FREE,why? : :
It is in case you use it after the trial period, you don’t have to give the details if you are using the 30 day trial.
Just cancel before it pass those 60 days. This procedure is the same on most sits with subscriptions like Netflix etc. It’s just to make it more smooth for you if you want to keep it. But my tip is to not go through with it but wait until you are offered a sale and then decide to buy it if you want. No need to pay full price when free version give you sales all the time.
A smarter move IMHO would be to use the 30 day trial and not pass along any information.
You should know within 30 days if you like the product or not. If you decide you just want the free version, then simply uninstall the paid version
and you’ll see an offer to convert to the free version.
I am too pay very money for this attendance. This is actual fraud.
You don’t pay anything for the trial so how can there be fraud ?
Yes, but what if one REFUSES IN ADVANCE OF FREE WILL to ever buy the full or JUST SIMPLY DOESN’T HAVE A CREDIT CARD OR PAYPAL? People should just make it easy on others as well as on themselves by just allowing to start a trial without payment info.
“Just in case” seems to me a fraudulent and silly excuse to require payment info for something free. Anyone capable of producing software is capable of ending the usage of it once the trial is over and a payment isn’t proceeded with.

Not really advisable to open a topic that hasn’t be active for well over a year, many things could have changed. If you refuse to give your payment details, then you can’t get the 60 day free trial. As has been said there is nothing to stop you using the 30 day trial (no payment details required).
If you don’t have a credit card or paypal, etc. how are you going to pay after your 60 day trial anyway.
What is this “Just in case” that you talk about ?
The product isn’t free you are given the opportunity to try it free for 60 days before payment is required, you could call it a delayed payment. You can always uninstall the 60 day trial and cancel the payment instruction.
This product - „Avast Free 60 day trial”, it’s a simple trick to steal money.
That’s all.
And nothing has changed from the advice given by those who have responded. This isn’t free, at the end of the 60 days you pay. Just install the normal version and you can use it for 30 days without having to give payment details.
Hi, i know this is an old topic but unfortunately I have similar problem. I gave card data for 60 days free trial and CANNOT CANCEL this free trial in any way. Can someone here help me?
