Free download but prompted to pay

I downloaded at free-antivirus-download#ios but it prompts me to pay. It said it is free so I do not get it.what am i missing? Thank you.

I think they take card details but you then get 20 or 30 days trial for free but renewal is turned on so if you do not cancel within the trial you are automatically charged for a year.

Thanks. I cannot respond to you but inly myself. After a while some counter ran put and it started working. No card details. But not very intuitive.

I suspect Avast hard sell the free trial of the paid version and take your card details if you choose that option as MrDJ mentions. If you just want the free version and avoid giving payment details, you have to look for “use free version anyhow”, or similar option, which may be less visible.

Thanks. As noted above it finally kicked it. I just had to wait for the timer. There was no other place to sign up. And it seems I can’t write as a free user to the company. Since it worked, I guess it means it was waiting for a time out to stop trying to sell me the paid version.
