Is there a licensing issue using the free version on corporate production PCs ?

Yes you are (still) allowed to use the free version on business systems.
The question is if it will be a smart idea.
Each system will have its own settings and you might want to have them all the same and manage them through a central point (the console in business versions) as well as monitoring the systems from a central point.

We have had several topics with avast input stating it is OK to use avast free in a business environment. I guess that came about because of the free version for business came in.
I don’t know if this free business version is still available or not. So we are in the area were we need avast team input again.
One thing for sure, these EULAs really need to be dated, that said they should all be fully up to date, but how does one check that.

Well, yes and no about the free business version.
As people from avast have told in other threads (and I also), people who signed up for the free business cloud version can still use it without a problem.
New sign-ups to it are not possible.
And as I indicated, it is not only the money that should be taken into consideration when it comes to a business environment.

Avast Free is a consumer product and therefore cannot be used in a commercial environment in the first place. The EULA which refers to a free product usage in businesses applies to AfB Basic, which, however is not available at the moment. In short, there is no free Avast product available to businesses. This is our legal department statement.
