This question has probably been asked before but I didn’t find it if it was. The problem is that I use Gator as my password manager and AVAST thinks its a virus.
I realise that Gator tries to comunicate back to its base but I block that with my firewall. So, I continue to want to use Gator as all my passwords are encrypted there.
How do I tell AVAST that I want to let these programs run?
You would have to add the executable to the exclution list, but are you sure you want to use Gator’s software ??
Gator used to be one of the most spreaded spyware maker may I ask what software we are talking about ? Is it Ewallet ?
You can add it to the exclusions lists: Standard Shield, Customize, Advanced, Add
and Program Settings, Exclusions
But like al968 I would caution you on Gator products, it has a very chequered past. I’m sure you could find a product to do the job that doesn’t have this history.
Yes, I use gator E-Wallet. Have used it for about 3 years now. As I said I block it from sending any info back home with my firewall. Since this is free, it seems to be the best deal as long as you control it.
