si purchased avast and expected the avast adds to go away. They have not and it is making me crazy. How do I get rid of the free adds
If you have a paid version of avast!, you can simply turn the ads off.
Avast UI > Settings > General > Popups > [untick] Show popup offers for other avast products.
I have looked for this and cannot find it in my options. Is it located somewhere else? Thanks
It’s exactly where Alikhan stated it is. Have you installed the paid version and applied the license you received after payment?
It is in the location stated, the Settings in the avastUI is represented by the cog wheel top right of the avast user interface.
You need to Expand the Popups section using the down arrow.

Most likely you have not applied the license file. Check the email account you supplied when purchasing, you should have received a license file (ends in .avastlic) download the file to your computer and double-click it. Avast will ask if you want to install the new license, and click ok on the prompt. You should then be able to turn off the offers as David posted

The option is there even when the license is not applied.
It is just not possible to change it without a license.
But if they have the free version, it won’t be there until the license is applied and that triggers it to covert to pro/premier

If you have the paid version you can uncheck this box. In the free version it’s pre-checked and can’t be unchecked.
Yes exactly, I see this all the time at work. Someone has Avast Free, but doesn’t apply the license. It is still avast free until the upgrade is triggered by the license file.
