File "C:\WINDOWS\i386\GETTYPE.EX_\gettype.exe" is infected by "Win32:Trojan-gen" virus
Appears to be a false positive. I have submitted the file to avast! for analysis via the Chest.

upload the file to www.virustotal.com and test it with 43 malware scanners
when you have the result, copy the URL in the address bar and post it here
alternatives if virustotal is busy
Only avast! and GData (using the avast! engine) detect a Trojan:

If only GData and avast detect it - GData uses avast as one of its two scanners so counts as 1 detection and almost certainly an FP.
Send the sample to avast as a False Positive:
Open the chest and right click on the file and select ‘Submit to virus lab…’ complete the form and submit, the file will be uploaded during the next update.
Please read my original post. I did submit the file to avast! via the Chest. However, even with the 110130-1 update, released subsequent to file submission, the false-positive detection persists.
OK, that post was a whole 4 hours ago, and even though avast is quick on correcting false positives when acknowledged, that is somewhat hopeful for it to be corrected already.
Just scan it after updates, it shouldn’t take long, but in the case of this file it isn’t an active file so the rush isn’t so great.
Seems like it’s an FP to me.
And also, what is the other engine G Data uses? It’s own engine?
BitDefender
Engine A = Bitdefender (old version kaspersky )
Engine B = avast
