GIMP and auto-sandbox... what a mess

… not really cool guys, I got a hundred prompts from the auto-sandbox on ask mode while starting GIMP on a new Windows account. It would just never ends, as GIMP contains tens and tens of secondary executables for plugins, brushes etc…

What version of GIMP is this? Just tried it on some version I have installed on my system, and din’t get any alert at all…

Thanks
Vlk

you got the version # on the screen shot  it’s 2.6

here’s a screen shot showing just a part of what I had to allow

Can you please send me a few of these guys? (pick some of the smaller ones).

Thanks
Vlk

you mean exe I suppose (by GUIs) ;D Okay I’ll archive them and send them.

I just noticed that while scanning gimp form portable apps, avast kind of stucked and could not scan the file. I also noticed that Sf.bin processes were executed and terminated, hammering the hard drive. Only firefox termination resolved the situation. Btw same thing happens each time I try to download the file. I am using avast free 6.0.1 on XP. It might have something to do with what Logos wrote.

okay Vlk, sent

was expected, auto mode would sandbox everything… (except those I already allowed in ask mode of course).

Hi,

I’ve got the same problem on my PC with Gimp 2.7.3. When it is loading I get confirmation to sandbox or not all of the .exe for Gimp modules. Even I check the “remember” box, I get the same question at next start.
Auto Sandbox does not seem to work, at least with Gimp…
Finally I deactivate sandoxing into Avast, too much trouble.
I am using Avast 6.0.1289.

Since this conversation started in February, the problem could be solved in November…

Do you have any idea ?

Stephane
