Shame on you Symantec >:( shame shame shame…But then again who’s cares I gave up on Symantec many years ago when I found Avast…Home sweet home to Avast who really cares about their users, business clients and their customers.
Symantec might as well drop dead!
I guess they must have seen the Zone Alarm tactics and taken it a step further and even pumped it out to their paying customers.
Now if there was ever a motivation to switch to an other AV, I guess that would be a powerful one. Smacks of scareware and desperation.
Blimey, another bloke gone over to the dark side… ;D
that’s funny,isn’t it? ;D
As far as I remember, I have seen it before the zone alarm tactic. someone on twitter, whom I follow, had posted a picture of it.
i’d call it “ROGUE AV” ;D ;D ;D ;D
Is it just me or does it seem like Symantec are trolling?
While they may have gone a bit over the edge, what they are saying is true. It used to be that Symantec programs would keep operating after the subscription ran out but couldn’t receive updates. Now the software stops working entirely if the subscription runs out so users would be at the mercy of the cyber criminals.
I guess symantec should drop this scare tactic and create a pop up that says “WARNING ! you are about to install a Symantect product” The alert could be acompanied by the sound of a cash register opening
;D
Arrrgh… no it was a week before and I thought it to be before ZA tactic.
It seems that they’ve had a change of heart.
Yes, same as ZA then, first shoot yourself in the foot and find out it hurts. Doesn’t anyone think about the reaction to cr*p like this before chucking it out there, obviously not.
speaking of cr*p, check out these ads.
They deserve a Double Facepalm award.
Friggin’ hilarious.
Oh come on, those ads are hilarious and I’m not surprised they’ve been successful.
They should get Homer Simpson for lead Marketing Executive. ;D
