Hi,
In the past week or so I have noticed my gmail running very slow on my PC that has Avast. All other websites run fast. Gmail on my phone runs fast.
Someone mentioned that there are certain settings on Avast that could be causing this. Help!
my gmail running very slow on my PChow do you access your Gmail ?
are you using a mail client / app?
are you using your browser and logging in at gmail.com ?
I log on thru Chrome directly to gmail.
do you have CCleaner?
try a clean up with CCleaner http://www.piriform.com/
you may use the CCleaner - Slim installer found here >> http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/builds
if you use the other remeber to untic the toolbar install if you dont want it
any change?
Thanks for your help. I am unfamiliar with CC cleaner - which option is best?
CCleaner - Slim no toolbar
I just did cc-cleaner and still having same issues. Could one of the avast settings be slowing gmail?
Also, when I turn of Avast, my Gmail works fine. This is why I think there is something from Avast causing the problem.

scroll down to second picture … Farbar Recovery Scan Tool … run as instucted and attach the two diagnostic logs
see below the box you write in … Attachments and other options
An expert will then check your computer
I’m a newbie. I just ran the Farbar and there were 2 logs that popped up. I didn’t understand the directions when it said to “attach” both logs that are generated. So I didn’t do anything.
Next, I downloaded aswmbr.exe and clicked “scan”. It started to scan, but then the computer shut down saying it detected a problem.
I looked this up on their website and it said: “When you run aswMBR, if it is shutdown automatically, then it is most likely the infection detecting that aswMBR is running and terminating it. In this situation you should rename executable to iexplore.exe before you attempt to run it.”
This is as far as I have gotten - I don’t understand what to do.
Use the ‘Attachments and other options’ which expands when clicked, now to point to where the log files are located on your system and that will attach them.
