Google redirect to 64.111.211.158 Again

Another case of this nasty malware …

I tried a lot a tools and anti-malware or anti-virus. Nothing seems to detect the beast. Only Avast at least block redirection to this IP.

Here’s my OTS file: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/19009031/OTS.Txt.

Thanks in advance for the help.

The fix should only take a very short time. When the fix is completed a message box will popup telling you that it is finished. Click the Ok button and Notepad will open with a log of actions taken during the fix. Post that information back here

I will review the information when it comes back in.

haubuchon please ignore the previous posted fix as all it is doing is removing combofix piecemeal.

Could you attach the OTS log please as dropbox reformats the log making it very hard to read

Additionally could you also attach the combofix log please, it will be at C:\Combofix.txt

Please ignore my earlier post about this being a firefox add-on. It seems to be re-occurring.

Ok, here are the logs. I’v zipped them to dropbox since OTS is too big for an attachement and I can’t attach zip files. Hope it does not causes you too much trouble …

Thanks again !

I see that you have squid proxy installed - could you disable that temporarily and see if the alerts stop

Depending on what the fix contains, this process may take some time and your desktop icons might disappear or other uncommon behavior may occur.

This is no sign of malfunction, do not panic!

Hi,

this is what I got back from applying the fix with OTS: (but the problem is still there)

I also uninstalled squid. The service was running but I was not using it.

Files\Folders moved on Reboot…
File\Folder C:\Users\haubuchon.DSICONSEIL\AppData\Local\Temp\citrixlogs\gotomeeting\457\G2MOutlookAddin.log not found!

Registry entries deleted on Reboot…

I may be talking too soon, but aswMBR seemd to have killed the beast !!!

I ran the scan, saved the log and clicked FixMBR. The I rebooted and I have no more redirections from firefox, Chrome started to work again and IE is not being spawned anymore. I will keep you posted if it comes back.

Here is the aswMBR log:

Excellent - it appears to be the new variant, and to be honest as TDSSKiller does not run against this I did not think of using aswMBR. But now I will ;D Thank you - let me know if a few days if you are happy and I will remove my tools

Hello !

This is just to let you know that after a couple of days, everything is still ok.

A good workman always cleans up after himself so…The following will implement some cleanup procedures as well as reset System Restore points:

Run OTS and hit the cleanup button. It will remove all the programmes we have used plus itself.

We will now confirm that your hidden files are set to that, as some of the tools I use will change that

[*]Click Start.
[*]Open My Computer.
[*]Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
[*]Select the View Tab.
[*]Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Do not show hidden files and folders.
[]Click Yes to confirm.
[
]Click OK.
