Got virus which i can't repair or delete

Hello I been using avast free on my laptop and i discovered there were 6 viruses with high severity in C:\Windows\Installer which i cannot delete, repair or move to chest. 2 are trojans, 2 are adware and 1 is spyware. after failing to get rid of them installed malwarebytes anti-malware and did a full scan but it found no viruses. The computer seems to be running fine except for firefox which won’t open. Can someone tell me what to do now.

could you attach a screenshot of the scan result?

then run OTL and attach the log…not copy and paste
instructions here. http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0

Below is the OTL log and screenshot of avast scan.

OTL.txt please…

and your screen shot…top right corner in red… i can,t see the full error message

Looks like it is one of the files inside the archive, Avast will not remove them as it destroys the archive.

Sorry here is the otl log and new screenshot.

have you restarted since you did the scan?..if not restart, and do a new scan
same result?

essexboy will be back and check the OTL log…check back tomorrow

I see you also have Norton running, you will need to uninstall that

Download the removal tool to your desktop https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/home/current/solutions/kb20080710133834EN_EndUserProfile_en_us?product=home&version=1
From Control panel uninstall Norton/Symantec
Once done then run the removal tool

Warning This fix is only relevant for this system and no other, using on another computer may cause problems

Be advised that when the fix commences it will shut down all running processes and you may lose the desktop and icons, they will return on reboot

Run OTL

[*]Under the Custom Scans/Fixes box at the bottom, paste in the following

Ok I did what Pondus said and avast still said there was 6 viruses.

I then did what essexboy said got rid of the norton product and did otl fix. Then quick scan after it rebooted.

Otl log attached.

Going to scan with avast to see if viruses are still there.

Just did full system scan with avast free and it seems the viruses are still there.

I attached a screen shot of the scan results below.

Look at the location  they are now in the OTL quarantine folder

Run OTL and press the cleanup button and they will disappear

Thank you guys very much Pondus and essexboy. I did the cleanup and the viruses are now gone. ;D

Our pleasure
