Green Shield Checkmark Accreditation

My website has been online since 2000 yet in a Google search doesn’t have the Avast Green shield checkmark. The Green checkmark when clicked shows (This site is safe).

Currently my site only has a Grey Shield Checkmark which when clicked shows (The site has no rating).

I am trying to find out where I can apply for the Avast Green shield checkmark for my site. Any information would be most welcome. Thank you.

The short answer is there is no such accreditation (that I’m aware of).

Those people that have the Avast On-line Security browser add-on can see that advisory in searches. Only those who visit your site, whom also have the Avast On-line Security browser add-on can vote/comment on the site.

Thank you for the reply David R., much appreciated.

I have Avast online security on my Browser, thanks to your advise I can now see how someone visiting the site can rate a site as trusted. I hadn’t noticed this before.

There seems more and more sites in google search that have the green shield checkmark, yet my site still has the grey shield. As I mentioned the site has been online since May 2000.

Sites with less visitors have the green checkmark; for example my site has 540 impression in the last 4 hours.

A system were the visitors can rate a site seems open to malicious intent by competitors and abuse by others; an office with enough staff could vote the company site as trusted. A VPN could allow a site owner to vote the site as trusted a number of times. Surely an Avast internal system is best to judge sites?

Personally, I wouldn’t click a site with a grey shield.

You’re welcome.

Unfortunately it is a slow process to build up a number of people who take the time complete the rating function. I used to use the Avast On-line Security browser add-on, but no longer. For me I just liked the cleaner line of the search results sans check marks.
