GUI failed to load (17.7.2314 - Windows 10)

I’ve had this happen two times in two days now. My GUI failed to load (17.7.2314 - Windows 10) Avast tray icon will show a red cross on it, I click on it, and it says the GUI has failed to load. Clicking restart in the window that pops up makes it hang for about 5 seconds, then nothing. Still failed to load. I’ve repaired Avast, I’ve uninstalled Avast and I’ve reinstalled Avast, but the problem was still there. Then, all of a sudden, it loads up and works.

My worry is that I’m not protected while this GUI error is occurring. Has anyone got any information about this?

Thanks for the reply, but could you tell me why this ‘remote desktop service’ fixes the issue? I’m a bit wary of anything that has to do with connecting remotely to other computers, as the description of this service suggests.

You’re welcome. (The rest is for the devs to answer…)

you have to trust avast, but it’s true that it can put question to our privacy
Lightning time when UI is started may be due to this remote connection ?
