GUI glitch on manual definitions update

I want to ask Windows 7 x64 SP1 users if you experienced this glitch with Avast 8 GUI:

under Maintenance > Update tab , select “Update engine and virus definitions”

does it works for You always (the progress to complete?) …

I had experienced more than dozen times that rarely it goes stuck and stays stuck on some value (0, 25, 50, 75 % usually)

even after several hours it’s still frozen on this value

only solution (fix) is terminate & restart the AvastUI.exe process

No problems here.
I just did it repeatedly and the procedure ends completely within 5-7 seconds when there is no update.

Noop I don’t face any problems. You should hit repair from control panel, or make a clean install.

it’s completely random and unrelated to the reinstall or else :wink: seen it happen already on 2 computers … just unable to reliable repro
